On Wednesday night, decentralized money market Compound (COMP) mistakenly paid out millions of dollars in COMP tokens as liquidity mining incentives in a suspected exploit.
The problem was discovered by Twitter user "napgener," who pointed to three Ethereum (ETH) transactions wherein users received a total of $15 million in COMP tokens in exchange for borrowing and supplying small amounts of tokens.
The erroneous payout amounts point to a bug in the comptroller contract, which distributes COMP liquidity mining incentives, which could be related to a recent upgrade.

| Twitter Teases NFT Verification
Mada Aflak, a Twitter Spaces software engineer, teased today an experimental glimpse at the platform's upcoming NFT verification feature, one week after the company announced that it was working on the functionality.
The engineer demonstrated how users could click on their avatar and select an NFT from their crypto wallet, with a customary blue checkmark to verify that they are the genuine owner of the image.
Aflak also emphasized that this is simply a mockup experiment, and she encouraged questions and suggestions from users.
