| Over the weekend, rumors were circulating that after nearly 8 years, victims of the Mt.Gox hack would finally be reimbursed their BTC, however, the delivery date of October 15th seems optimistic at best. The trustee is said to have at least 150,000 BTC in his possession to repay users who lost funds in the breach, but there have been numerous lengthy delays in the ongoing proceedings and conversations around how distribution will be handled. People are confusing the fact that the October 15th date is an extension for the rehabilitation plan, which was originally granted by a Tokyo District Court on June 30th, 2020. This date does not have any weight on when the actual distribution of the coins will take place. We have seen several of these extensions granted before, so while it's something to be paying attention to, distribution on that date is unlikely. It will be interesting to see if anymore extensions are given, or if the trustee will present a firm plan for distribution, as well as a firm date for that to occur.
