    Hello Geckos!

    How was your weekend?

Are you a Joe Rogan fan? Even if you're not, close to 10 Million people are indeed his fans.

In a recent episode of his, Rogan straight up encouraged his followers to "check out" Bitcoin in a sponsored ad about Cash App. While we never know if Cash App actually paid him to mention bitcoin in the ad, Rogan has in the past discussed bitcoin in his podcast. A few of his episode even features Bitcoin proponent such as Andreas Antonopoulous, who then proceeded to blow Rogan's mind in a very Joe Rogan way.

Also, DeFi has yet again hit another milestone. After hitting $1 billion USD in DEX volume during March and $2 Billion USD in June, it took less than a month for it to hit $3 billion and then 4 billion today.

(Editor: "Bubble"? or is the DeFi mean machine just getting started?)

Hope today's CoinGecko Newsletter start your crypto day off the right way!

    Ethereum Classic suffers Chain Reorganization

Ethereum Classic (ETC) suffered a 3,693-block chain reorganization which was initially thought to be a possible 51% attack.

However, it turns out that it was likely caused by rogue miner - having been cut off from the blockchain, joining back the network.

The reorganization caused all state-pruned nodes to stop syncing, and lasted for roughly 15.4 hours.

(Editor: This incident has undoubtedly caused tarnish on ETC, what's worse is that this is not caused by malice but negligence.)
