Hello Geckos!

Want to be a blockchain expert for free? Go to South Korea.

Well, maybe not exactly "for free" but it's close. South Korea's fourth largest city, Daegu, aim to solve what is considered a "serious shortage of resources in the core technologies of the 4th industrial evolution" and have even committed up to $6 Million USD in order to bring talented individuals into the city and offer them free blockchain courses.

(Editor: Got me sold at "Korea"!)

Here's something for your weekend drama entertainment: John McAfee "Ghosts" his own crypto project.

(Editor: now that's a cool pun from Decrypt.)

Here's the ironic part of the story, his announcement came less than a week after he strongly affirmed his belief in the project, claiming that he "labored his entire life to reach the point where he could [produce the Ghost ecosystem]"

(Editor: Part genius, part loose canon, now the trick is to figure how much does each part is he made up of)

Have a great weekend ahead!

Ethereum Miners Are Against Proposal To Reduce Block Rewards

A new Ethereum (ETH) Improvement Proposal (EIP) has been met with resistance from miners.

EIP-2878 proposes that block rewards should be reduced by 75%, bringing it down from 2 ETH a block to 0.5 ETH.

This is to bring Ethereum's inflation rate closer to Bitcoin's, thus preserving the purchasing power of ETH.
