Announcement: Test Network is Live!

After a lot of hard work from the entire Dock team, we are delighted to announce that the first Dock test net is now live! Called Northill (for reasons explained within our latest blog post which we encourage you to read), this is a technical release which provides developers with an initial toolset that enables the creation of decentralized identities, and the issuance, presentation and verification of credentials. Northill represents an early yet significant step towards reducing the cost and time barriers to seamlessly issue immutable and universally verifiable data. A key aspect of Northill is the creation of self-sovereign identity meaning that there is no central issuer or provider of identities within the Dock ecosystem. Instead, the issuers control the creation and management of their own identities without the need for a central entity. As the Dock Network scales, this will ensure no entity or individual is reliant on large centralized entities, such as governments or large corporations.  Our objectives from this release are to engage with future users of the Dock Network in order to get insights into what we can do to improve their experience while also providing existing partners, such as Verifiable with the features they need to support their customers.  Website   We have also been working on a new website to coincide with this release. The site will be an evolving work and you will see us make continual and gradual changes inline with the feature additions and improvements that we make to the Dock Network. As ever we welcome your feedback and suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated. One of the next additions we will make to the site is a roadmap and this will be finalized and published at the end of this month! Ready Player 1   As the world adapts to the Coronavirus lockdown virtual events are quickly becoming the norm and from May 4th through May 6th Dock lead developer Lovesh and CEO Nick (Lambert) will be attending Ready Player 1. An invitation-only and online event being held as part of 2020 open blockchain week held for builders in the Web3.0 space. At the event, Lovesh will present and demo the Northill test net in a presentation entitled "Using Web3 technologies to create self-sovereign identities and issue W3C standards compliant verifiable credentials."
