What's Up with the FAN Token World Tour?

Hello September! September's slate of presentation and speaking opportunities is going to keep our co-founders busy. Patrick Dees will be presenting at Blockchain Seattle, Grant Cohen will be participating in Mobile World Congress in Los Angeles, Patrick will be back in action on a panel at FanVest's LA Esports Business Summit, and CEO Sohrob Farudi will be joined in Santa Clara, CA, on a panel at the Blockchain & ICO Funding Summit by our Advisors Peter Vessenes and Andy Dolich.

And, in case you missed it, TPG Sports Group recently posted a look back at last spring's Sports Tank, an event that was very successful for FCFL, as we took the Next Gen Arena competition, and Ray and Patrick presented at the Sports Tank main event!

    Notable News

Electronic Arts, the developer of Madden NFL, announced that they have cancelled upcoming events for the Madden Championship Series, following the tragedy in Jacksonville. The events were set to take place in Los Angeles, Dallas and Chantilly, VA. EA's CEO, Andrew Wilson, cited "a comprehensive review of safety protocols for competitors and spectators" in an open letter as the reason for the cancellations. The full letter to the fans and gaming community can be found on EA's website.

EA has also set up a tribute fund and livestream to support the victims of Jacksonville. They have made a $1 million contribution and have set up a GoFundMe for the public to donate to as well. The livestream is set for Thursday, September 6. If you are interested in contributing to the cause, click here

The NFL has a new CMO lined up - Tim Ellis of Activision Blizzard. Slated to start his new position later this month, Ellis said "I couldn't be more excited to lead the marketing program for the NFL." If Activision Blizzard sounds familiar, it may have something to do with the fact that its the same studio that has produced blockbuster games like Guitar Hero and Call of Duty. Could this be a sign that the NFL is thinking about gamifying its product? Sounds to us like a page taken straight from the FCFL playbook!

Speaking of the NFL, regular season kicks off this Thursday! The Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles will face off to get the regular season started at 5:20pm PT on NBC.

In the latest installment of "Texas Football Days" on FOX Sports, "She Can Play" highlights high school athletes Tye Cervantez and K-lani Nava, and professional football coaches Jen Welter and Odessa Jenkins as they pave the way for women in football in their own ways.Tye Cervantez, a WR and Safety for Cotton Center High School, helped keep her team from forfeiting the season after they faced trouble filling spots on the roster. K-lani Nava, a Kicker that played 2014-17 for Strawn High School, helped her team make history and win a Texas state title game - officially making her the first female player to score points during a championship game. Jen Welter, the first female coach in the NFL, increases access and opportunities in football for women through her GRRRidiron Flag Football Camp and her Camp on the Corner program, that brings football to youth in under-served areas. Odessa Jenkins, the Head Coach and Co-Owner of Texas Elite Women's Football, is driven to create a space in professional football for women to play in, as opposed to just cheering from the sidelines or the stands. We salute these women for continuing to "change the game of football," something the FCFL is passionate about.

FOX Sports announced that changes in its FS1 programming lineup will be coming. Marcellus Wiley has been added as co-host of Speak for Yourself with Jason Whitlock, starting September 10 and on the same day Lock It, the network's first-ever sports gambling show, will debut. Lock It is intended to make avid sports fans smarter and more informed on the world of sports betting.. With big personalities like Rachel Bonnetta, "Cousin Sal" Iacono, Clay Travis, and Oddsmaker Todd Fuhrman, the program will show fans its "not only about being right, it's about being interesting," said Charlie Dixon, EVP of Content for FS1.

The University of Miami revealed that in their match against LSU, the football team wore custom adidas uniforms made of plastic-waste materials found in the ocean. The uniforms are part of the partnership adidas has with "Parley for the Oceans," a self-described "space where creators, thinkers and leaders raise awareness for our oceans and collaborate on projects that can end their destruction." Leading up to the game, Miami's twitter feed was filled with promotion of both the jerseys and a call to reduce waste in oceans. We're sure proud alumnus and FCFL Co-Founder Grant Cohen was pleased to see his team making a difference!
