What's Up with the FAN Token World Tour?
Last week, Co-Founder Grant Cohen spoke to students at the Global Sports and Entertainment Business Academy at Loyola Marymount University, here in Los Angeles. Apparently, all the students are ready to be a part of the FANchise team!
Next week, Head of Football Experience Jason Chilton will be serving as a guest judge at the Stadia Ventures Finalist Pitch Day & Global Demo Day in Frisco, TX. That's August 7 & 8. So if you'll be in the area, be sure to check it out!

In our latest Fan Call Friday, Sohrob Farudi, Commish Ray Austin, and Jason Chilton break down their thoughts on the severity of penalties in the FCFL.
Notable News Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala are spending time off the court in the world of esports. The two Golden State Warriors have invested in the League of Legends team, Team SoloMid. Of the $37M raised from investors, $20M will be used to build a new esports facility in Los Angeles. With the buy-in for the North American League of Legends Championship Series already covered, Team SoloMid will be able to invest in their athletes and fans.
With Andre Iguodala's investment portfolio growing and his passion for technology, its only natural that after his NBA career he stay in Silicon Valley. He'll be able to combine the two in a new show on the digital network Cheddar, called 'Evenings with Andre.' The program will have him diving into business, tech, sports and entertainment topics through celebrity interviews. At next week's inaugural Players Technology Summit, he will get to reunite with teammate Curry to give pro athletes a crash course in startups and investing. These potential connections will give athletes the opportunity to leverage their individual brands. Due to high demand of the summit, people have been turned away, but there are plans for it to grow in the coming years.
The San Francisco 49ers are elevating the fan experience at Levi's ยฎ Stadium thanks to their new partnership with MYXR, Inc. The partnership is building upon the 49ers use of Augmented Reality (AR) in previous seasons. In 2016, the team distributed AR trading cards to fans that were brought to life using a mobile phone. Last year, they used a similar application with souvenir cups sold exclusively at the team's in-stadium store.
In case you missed it, the American Flag Football League's (AFFL) U.S. Open of Football Championship Game featured amateur team Fighting Cancer vs. pro team Godspeed. Godspeed is made up of Olympic Gold Medalists Michael Johnson and Jeremy Wariner, and NFL alums including Justin Forsett, Seneca Wallace, and Jahvid Best among others. Fighting Cancer, a team with experience ranging from high school to professional football experience, toppled Godspeed 26-6, winning the coveted million dollar prize.
