What's Up with the FAN Token World Tour? Last week, Co-Founder Patrick Dees was in San Diego for Comic-Con, speaking on "Going Crypto: How Digital Coin Technology Is Changing How We Live Our Lives." The audience sure loved his presentation! Meanwhile, Co-Founders Sohrob Farudi and Grant Cohen attended the invite-only Capgemini Innovation Summit held in San Francisco in conjunction with this past weekend's Rugby World Cup Sevens. Sohrob participated on a panel and also gave a presentation. This week the team is "laying low" as we get some serious "in office" time. More to come on the flipside. And it looks like not too many folks run conferences in August (summer vacation, anyone?) so the guys will be taking a break for the month, before hitting the planes, trains, and automobiles hard again come September. In addition, our summer intern, Cole, put together a great piece on what to do when your star player wants out, and by "star player" he means Kawhi Leonard, and his piece hit our blog one day before the big trade to the Raptors was announced. Check out Cole's prognostications here. Never miss a play when it comes to keeping track of the latest news about FAN Token and the FCFL β join our Telegram Announcement channel today! The MLB is offering fans a unique immersive baseball experience with the launch of MLB Home Run Derby VR. The game was developed and distributed by MLB's Games and Virtual Reality team, making it the first VR game created by an American professional sports league. It allows fans to compete in a home run derby by hitting home runs and tallying as many points as possible in the allotted time. Additionally, results are tracked and fans are placed on a worldwide leaderboard that shows who the best VR Home Run hitters are. Try it out and test your home run skills so that you can be prepared to know what it feels like to sit atop the FCFL leaderboard. If you missed the MLB All Star Game, check out the highlights here! This year's game gave fans an insider listen as the game featured players who were mic'd up allowing for some great conversation between the players and the announcers in the booth. We were finally able to hear the thoughts of a lonely outfielder, and the pressure a player faces when a fly ball is coming right at them! Who were you rooting for in the 2018 MLB All Star Game? Did you like hearing from the players during the game? Patrick's panel wasn't the only exciting sports story at last week's Comic-Con as the Players' Tribune teamed with Prime Video for a "first-of-its-kind" collaboration to support the launch of upcoming series Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, which will be available Aug. 31 on Prime Video. TPT produced immersive video content from Prime Video's Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan experience at San Diego Comic-Con with Ronda Rousey, Joel Embiid, and Richard Sherman. The athletes embarked on adventures such as the Jack Ryan Training Field, a hyper-reality 4D virtual-reality spy experience that tests the mental and physical strength of each athlete, putting them in a variety of scenarios, including riding a zip line, navigating a balance beam and driving a speeding car. The athletes also had to escape from a room in the Dark Ops adventure, a first-of-its-kind experience which recreated a scene from the pilot episode of the new show. Interesting NY Times piece last week by Kevin Draper on the dawning of the era of streaming niche sports. He highlights Karate Combat, which is a full contact karate league that has become the next sports league to join the era of streaming! Michael DePietro, Karate Combat's chief executive has said that only a few hundred fans were in attendance at their first event in Miami in April, but that the majority of fans tuned in via their live stream. Live streamed sports leagues are incredibly accessible because they allow fans to watch no matter where they might be in the world. Does this sound familiar? It should, because the FCFL will stream all of our games live for our fans all around the world! JP Morgan filed a patent application in January which would give them the ability to issue ICO tokens using the blockchain. On July 19th, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published this patent application. In the patent, JPMorgan mentions that a use-case for the distributed ledger would be "a securities offering" which in a blockchain environment would essentially function as an initial coin offering for newly issued security tokens. Goldman Sachs COO David Solomon told Bloomberg that the firm must "evolve its business and adapt to the environment." We think they are on the right track! Do you?
