We Have a Winner Well, actually, we have several winners. For those paying close attention the past couple of weeks, we've been running a promotion for a couple of lucky FCFL fans to receive complementary MVP Passes for this weekend's National Fantasy Football Convention. The winners have been selected and Rob Midson and Nick Haase will be heading to Ft. Worth as MVPs. We also were able to provide two complementary General Admission passes as consolation prizes to Julie and Julian Maldonado. What's Up with the FAN Token World Tour? The FCFL will be IN THE HOUSE at the National Fantasy Football Convention this weekend in Ft. Worth, TX! Notable News The Blockchain Economic Forum took place in San Fransisco last month featuring investors with billion dollar portfolios, top-level politicians, scientists, media influencers & leaders in technology from around the world. In addition to the conference, an ICO Pitch Competition was held debuting a number of promising blockchain projects including the winner: PlayChip ICO. The competition was put on by Tim Draper who is an investor & venture capitalist, and one of the earliest believers and advocates of blockchain technology. It is exciting to see such promising companies within the blockchain space and we wish nothing but the best for PlayChip and their future!
ESPN launched new alternative viewing experiences with the NBA on ESPN3 and the ESPN App for select games during its 82-game coverage of 2018 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League from Las Vegas. Among the experiences underway are: "Summer League Live" a full in-arena experience with continuous coverage throughout the game, including live in-venue entertainment, and updates on fashion and lifestyle; "Dueling Analysts" an approach that will gamify a broadcast by pitting analysts against each other in fun and competitive fashion; "SkyCam View"; and "Hometown Live Call." Could we see these innovative broadcast features in the FCFL?
Live video streaming company, Akamai has been supporting all livestreaming thus far in the 2018 World Cup! The company said that within 10 days of the tournament, total traffic surpassed all 64 matches of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. According to this article, the July 3 Colombia-England second-round match drove the highest video traffic peak of the tournament, reaching 18.59 terabits per second. Could the future of watching sports be moving towards streaming? Only time will tell, but we think so!
