    Notable News

This past week was a busy one in the world of sports! In case you missed any of the action, we have dedicated this week's notable news to the winners and honorable mentions of the week:

A dynasty was born this past week when the Golden State Warriors captured their 3rd NBA Championship in four years defeating LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. Although the Warriors finished the Cavs off in a quick four games, it was a great series between two teams who are very familiar with each other having faced off in the NBA Finals for the past four years straight. Perhaps the best player in the game, LeBron James becomes a free agent this off-season. What team do you think he will join next season?

On Saturday, Justify won the 150th running of the Belmont Stakes becoming the 13th horse in history to win the Triple Crown! Justify is a 3-year-old colt who took home the first place prize money amounting to $800,000 and earned his team a total of $2.94 million from all three legs of the Triple Crown. Justify is the first horse to win the Triple Crown since American Pharoah who won in 2015. Congrats to Justify and team on this historic feat!

The Washington Capitals ended the Championship drought in D.C. when they won the Stanley Cup defeating the newly established Las Vegas Knights. The Capitals beat the Knights 4 - 3 in game 5 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to bring the Cup home to the capital of the United States. The Las Vegas Knights came up short, but are proud of their near perfect season in just their first year! Looks like Las Vegas is becoming home to some great sports teams, and hopefully more to come!

Rafael Nadal has won the 2018 French Open, beating Dominic Thiem in the finals. Nicknamed "The King of Clay," Nadal proves why, bringing his record to an incredible 86-2 in the French Open after Sunday's victory. Nadal joins Simona Halep as singles champions this year. Halep, in her first Grand Slam victory, defeated American Sloane Stephens in the women's singles final on Saturday. Congrats to our new French Open Champs!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup begins this week on June 14th in Russia! FIFA, Budweiser and Twitter are making it easier for fans to vote for the Man of the Match Award during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The partnership is a continuation of Man of the Match voting during the 2014 World Cup. The new Twitter voting platforms will offer an enhanced visual voting portal and will update to include active players on the pitch. Voting opens as soon as the first half of each match ends, via the voting portal at FIFA's official @FIFAWorldCup on Twitter. Fans can vote, and even change their vote, until the match ends. Fans will simply choose the player they feel deserves to win the Man of the Match award and submit a vote via Twitter. Budweiser Man of the Match voting is available in five languages - English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. When voting concludes, @FIFAWorldCup will tweet the name of the winner as well as video of the match action and an interview with the Man of the Match.

    We Want Your Input!

People frequently ask us: do you really want fan input on how to run the league? Our answer is an unequivocal: YES! Not only will fans be driving all football-related decisions once the games are being played on the field, but we want fans to play an integral role in how we structure our league operations. The main channel for such communication has been and will continue to be our Telegram channel, where you can chat directly with all of our team members and co-founders at nearly any hour of the day. We have been discussing a range of topics, from Token structure to fan engagement to simply sharing thoughts on the NFL playoffs and college bowl games. We would love your input as well!
